Jules Lagae (Roulers, 15 March 1862 – Bruges, 2 June 1931) was a Belgian sculptor and medallist, born in Roeselare. ==Life== Lagae was taught by Joseph Jacquet and Charles van der Stappen at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. He also worked with Jef Lambeaux and Julien Dillens. In 1888, he won the Prix de Rome and spent four years on scholarship in Italy and abroad. He was also associated with the art group L'Essor.
